One day we could be famous.
‘One day we could be famous’ Pop up Art shop 13th and 14th of December 2012 at Sheffield Hallam University! A group of up and coming artist’s opening an art store selling limited edition prints and art objects. I really enjoyed doing the shop as it allowed us all to experience, how individually we could adapt our work to sell it in a commercial environment whilst still keep it ‘in keeping’ with our own practice, and also how we could all work together in a group to maximise the benefit of the shop. I created bags key rings and prints using my drawings from the original Alice in Wonderland drawings. I screen printed 2 designs onto tote bags; I chose these bags as they are in fashion and are useful whether it’s to carry your folders for uni or your purse and would be great for any last minute Christmas gifts for the time of year we were doing the shop. My key rings I hand made using shrink plastic, so each are hand drawn from scratch, which was time consuming but the outcome I was very pleased with; I did 3 designs, The white rabbit, Alice and a pocket watch. My final additions to the shop were some screen prints of the white rabbit.
